Magic from Johnson sees him collect the Frost Cup
VICTORIA Park was the venue for this year’s Frost Cup, which was first awarded in 1923.
In fine weather and on an excellent green 42 people entered the competition and had a most enjoyable day.
There were a lot of games to be squeezed in and the standard of play was excellent with some close-scoring games that saw 42 entrants whittled down.
Judith Caris lost out to John Hough in one semifinal, with Derek Johnson victorious over Ken Houghton in the other.
Both finalists had played brilliantly throughout but Johnson managed to overcome Houghton to take the trophy with a comfortable 21-11 win.
