Kerridge will take Hart despite first loss in eight
AN eighth straight victory for Kerridge was not to be as visiting Hartford rode their luck with the bat and in the end recorded a deserved victory.
Batting first Kerridge made steady progress on another lightning fast outfeld but didn’t use all the allotted overs and in the end a decent total of 232 wasn’t enough.
Leading the way with the bat for the hosts once again was Luke Wild (63) and Andy McKeith (41) with others chipping in.
For the visitors veteran Rob Whittle took the bowling honours with 7-60.
After tea the home side made immediate inroads with Adam Banks (3-70) claiming the first of his wickets by bowling the dangerous Whittle.
There then came a match-winning stand of 138 between Hartford skipper James Hodgkinson who struck a hardhitting 94 and Sharp who scored 43, but following dropped catches early in their knocks they made the home side pay dearly.
When they went it was keeper turned bowler Wild who came into the attack with immediate success, claiming 4-23 off 5.3 overs to keep Kerridge in the hunt.
Despite Andy McKeith taking his maiden Kerridge wicket the visitors took the win but with 14 points coming to Clarke Lane they will look to the trip to Mere this weekend with optimism.
