Arighi team take leap of faith for charity

Macclesfield Express - - CHARITY ROUND-UP -

A FEARLESS team of daredevils from family furniture store Arighi Bianchi took a leap of faith to raise funds for charity.

Staff from the famous furnishings shop took part in an abseil down Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral, all in aid of the Stroke Association.

The group of 15 staff from the store, based on The Silk Road in Macclesfield, descended a dramatic 150ft freefall drop over the cathedral’s main entrance.

And the squad of adrenaline junkies, including brave sales assistants, carpet fitters and distribution centre staff, raised more than £2,000 from their feat.

Tracey Maxwell, sales assistant and charity co-ordinator at Arighi Bianchi, said: “This was an exhilarating experience for everyone involved – there were plenty of nerves once we started making our way along the roof, but then it became all about conquering the fear and doing our bit for a very worthy cause. We’ve had fantastic support so far from our customers and suppliers.”
