Get on your bike for charity cycle event
RIDERS from all over Cheshire and beyond are expected at the Bollington Bikefest starting at the Adelphi Mill, Grimshaw Lane, Bollington, on Sunday, September 7 from 8am.
There are rides for all ages and abilities from the 12-mile trip down the Middlewood Way, which is ideal for families, to the 40 miles across the Cheshire Plains and the 75 miles over the hills and back.
Last year more than 270 riders took part and helped to raise £5,000 for good causes including East Cheshire Hospice and Prostate Cancer.
An even bigger turnout is expected for this year’s event.
A barbecue, refreshments and a bar will be available for hungry and thirsty riders and spectators.
It’s an opportunity to ride through the glorious countryside possibly with family and friends, keep fit and meet other riders.
Bikefest is jointly organised by Macclesfield Lions, Girl Guiding Cheshire Border, Adelphi Mill Properties and Bollington Town Council.
A spokesman said: “Thanks again to the Bollington Co-op store who sponsor the riders’ food and drink and their continuing support for this event.”
