Cash injection for charity after beer festival
ROUND Table members donated £7,000 to the Rossendale Trust from money raised at this year’s Macclesfield Beer Festival.
Chris Leonard from Macclesfield and District Round Table presented the cheque to Rossendale’s chief executive Steve Nichols to help with the charity’s work supporting adults with learning disabilities from its site on Hollin Lane.
It will be used to help build the Oakwood Arts and Media learning centre, which offers activities for Rossendale Trust users to develop skills, knowledge and confidence. The development, due to be finished by the end of October, was funded entirely through voluntary contributions.
Steve Nichols said: “It’s through the hard work and kind donations of organisations such as the Round Table, local business and individual donors that has made this project possible. The funds raised will directly impact on helping us to support the adults we care for reach their potential.”
Fundraising events coming up include Ashton Brass Band at St Michael’s and All Angels Church, Macclesfield, on Saturday, October 11 and the Rossendale Fashion Show on Thursday, November 6.
Tickets can be bought from 01260 252500. For more information visit rossendaletrust.org.uk.
