MACCLESFIELD RSPB Wildlife Explorers started their new season with a meeting celebrating biodiversity – ‘All Creatures Great and Small’.

This was the first meeting at their new venue, the Salvation Army Hall on Roe Street in Macclesfield.

Explorers had lots of fun learning about the variety of creatures in different habitats. Members also completed a fantastic mosaic swan with feathers made by drawing round the children’s hands and carrying pledges and messages in support of nature conservation.

Tina Hanak, group leader, said: “We had a great first meeting at the Salvation Army Hall – it was really good to see so many familiar faces, and some new ones, having so much fun learning about wildlife.”

Macclesfield Wildlife Explorers’ next indoor meeting, Colour and Camouflage, will be held on Monday October 20, for young people. ●● FOR information go tomacclesfieldrspb.org. uk.
