AMS drivers pass tough track test
ON Saturday AMS (All Hallows and Macclesfield Schools) Kart Club were in Lincolnshire at Fulbeck Kart Racing track.
This track is notorious for its unforgiving kerbs and unpredictable track surface, and with the wet weather setting in very early it proved a real test of the young drivers’ skills.
Three of the four scheduled race heats were run on wets but as the late sunshine broke through there was time for the final heat to be a frantic dash in the drier weather.
Eight-year-old Jack Carless secured the cadet of the day trophy with another eight-year-old, William Cook, close behind.
In Class 11, Dan Woolley, 13, was fifth and just missed out on a trophy.
Jordan Brown received the third-place trophy in his class 15 Rotax which was a personal best for him.
And with Corey O’Connor bringing his class eight high-powered kart home in first place it capped a successful day for AMS.
