Fal­li­b­roome alumni to tour new £4.3m block

FOR­MER stu­dents of Fal­li­b­roome Academy are be­ing in­vited to a event to mark the open­ing of its new £4.3m block.

The block fea­tures a sixth form cen­tre, 450 seat re­fec­tory and ad­min­is­tra­tion of­fices.

The event, the first or­gan­ised by the Fal­li­b­roome Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion, will in­clude guided tours of the new and old build­ings.

There will also be a pre­sen­ta­tion of long ser­vice awards to 35 cur­rent and for­mer staff and gover­nors who have worked at the school for 20 years or longer, and a buf­fet.

It is tak­ing place on Satur­day, Novem­ber 8, from 12pm to 3pm.

Mem­bers of the alumni as­so­ci­a­tion can ap­ply for two free tick­ets by email­ing alumni@ fal­li­b­roome.co.uk giv­ing their name and the name of their guest.

Past stu­dents who are not mem­bers can join by filling in the form at fal­li­b­roome.org.uk/ alumni and, once signed up, ap­ply for tick­ets.

Bernard Hurst, alumni of­fi­cer and for­mer as­sis­tant prin­ci­pal, said: “Come and re-live the hap­pi­est days of your life.”

The Fal­li­b­roome Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion started a year ago and now has 700 mem­bers.

Three re­unions have taken place so far for the 1979, 1980 and 1994 in­takes.

As well as re­unions the as­so­ci­a­tion in­vites for­mer stu­dents to give cur­rent stu­dents mo­ti­va­tional talks and work place­ments.
