●● A CHURCH is set to profit from solar energy for the next 20 years. Poynton Methodist Church installed solar panels in 2012 at a cost of £18,000. Since then it has saved thousands of pounds on electricity as well as been paid for energy generated through its feed-in tariff (FIT). It means within two year the original outlay has been paid back. Now everything the church makes for the next 22 years is profit, minus 10 per cent for fuel poverty charities. ●● CHESHIRE Streetwise visited the Girl Guide Rangers at Poynton Methodist Hall to deliver a Drugs Awareness session.
