Drug dealer snared by police operation will spend years in jail
A DEALER snared by officers as part of a crackdown on drugs in Macclesfield has been jailed for four and a half years.
Jay Mason, pictured, of Tynedale Close, Macclesfield, was locked up at Chester Crown Court on Thursday (October 16) after admitting to four separate charges of possessing class A drugs with the intent to supply them to others.
The 22-year-old had pleaded guilty to the charges – which related to cocaine and diamorphine – at a hearing at the same court on September 24.
His arrest was part of Macclesfield police’s Operation Dresden, which was launched in January to tackle the supply of drugs and crimes linked to drug abuse in the town.
Inspector Steve Griffiths, head of Macclesfield police, said: “Operation Dresden continues to target drug dealers causing misery in our communities.
“There will be no let up and this sentence is a result of the community and the police working together. These efforts are continuing.”
