Firm pulls out stops to support char­ity

FA­CIL­I­TIES man­age­ment firm Sodexo at As­tra Zeneca had a lot of fun rais­ing £1,415 for Seashell Trust.

Seashell Trust cares for and works with pro­foundly dis­abled young peo­ple to help them achieve their po­ten­tial and lead full and ac­tive lives.

Some of the stu­dents went along to two fun days held at As­tra Zeneca’s Alder­ley Edge and Mac­cles­field sites and joined in a spon­sored re­lay row of the English Chan­nel on a row­ing ma­chine another all the other attractions.

Jodie Aiken­head, Sodexo cus­tomer ser­vice man­ager at Alder­ley Park, said: “This year we have com­pleted the York­shire Three Peaks Chal­lenge and held fetes to raise money for the char­ity. Both events were huge suc­cesses and raised £1,415 for Seashell Trust, a fan­tas­tic char­ity we have worked closely with over the last few years and look for­ward to sup­port­ing the great work that they do in fu­ture.”

Sodexo em­ploys a grad­u­ate from the char­ity in sup­ported role after a num­ber of suc­cess­ful work ex­pe­ri­ence place­ments for other Seashell stu­dents.

Wendy Bray, from Seashell Trust, said: “We are so grate­ful to all the staff at Sodexo and As­tra Zeneca for so gen­er­ously fundrais­ing for us. It was a fan­tas­tic event and our stu- dents were very proud to be part of the team that rowed the Chan­nel in a day.”
