DOZENS of people paid a visit to the annual Prestbury Village Show.

People entered a variety of produce into a range of prize classes from early morning which were then judged before the show officially opened in the afternoon.

Mary Hindle, a committee member of Prestbury Gardening Club, said: “The dry weather meant the flower exhibits were unspoilt and the dahlias and roses were particularly well presented as were the beautiful flower arrangements.

“Vegetables and fruits were also in abundance and the high standard of handicrafts, homemade jams, chutneys, cakes and biscuits made the judges’ task quite a challenge.” “The children’s section was also very well supported and imaginative animal models had been made from everything from a lobster to an elephant. Incredibly they had all being made from vegetables and fruit.”

The children’s art work was displayed throughout the day and the winners received their prizes from the Rose Queen and Rosebud at the end of the show.
