Staff ‘pretty in pink’ for charity

Macclesfield Express - - CHARITY ROUND-UP - EDWARD DAVIES

EYE care staff were pretty in pink to help raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Care.

Staff from Macclesfield’s Specsavers store donned the colour for a fundraiser, which has so far drummed up more than £540 in collections.

The Grosvenor Centre shop also hosted a bake sale while a Tutu-clad employee toured the town with a collection box.

Craig Wollaston, dispensing consultant, organised the event.

He said: “We’ve been bowled over by the generosity of our customers who have helped us raise so much money.

“I had lots of people tell me that if I was prepared to dress up like this, then the least they could do was put some money in our collection and I am amazed by how much they have donated.” Raffle tickets are still being sold until Friday 31 October with prizes including Thorntons chocolates, designer Specsavers glasses and other goody bags.
