Fundraiser raises cash for hospital
AN event raised £1,300 for a team at Macclesfield Hospital.
The Macclesfield District Hospital Music and Fine Art event at the town’s Revolution bar helped drum up funds for the hospital’s Home Intravenous Therapy Team.
It was organised by NV Modelling and Events in conjunction with Ameniah Raquel, an events planner from New York, and Christine Lane of the medical team.
Members of the Macclesfield business community, residents and NHS dignitaries were all entertained by live music from band Butterfly Jam, champagne and canapés.
Macclesfield Mayor Janet Jackson, who also attended, said: “It was a great event that raised money for a very worthy cause - the people that help patients with heart problems and other ailments.
“I was particularly interested having had open heart surgery myself.
“Everyone seemed to have a great night and lots of businesses got involved to sponsor prizes.
“I had another engagement so didn’t stay too long which was a shame as I heard it got even busier than it was when I was there later on.
“It was great to meet everyone - people from the hospital and from businesses around Macclesfield.
“And it raised £1,330 for the hospital’s team which is an absolutely brilliant amount. There’s lots going on around the town at the minute and that’s great to see, I’m only too happy to support as many community organisations and events as I can.”
