Crafty way to spend half-term
THERE is a host of half term fun on offer from the Macclesfield Museums this week.
The group, which runs the Silk Museum, The Old Sunday School, West Park Museum and Paradise Mill, has planned a variety of events to entertain for children (and adults!) of all ages, starting today, Wednesday, October 29.
Visit the Old Sunday School to make silk moth mobiles, telling the story of a silk moth’s journey from the mulberry leaf to fully fledged moth.
This will be followed, on Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, by Halloween-themed craft clubs at the Silk Museum.
These sessions are for children aged six to 11 and allow them to make jumping witches and scary ghosts to take home.
All four Macclesfield Museums are open over the half term holiday and children get in free. Silk Moth Mobiles is a drop-in session which costs £2 and runs from 1.30pm-3.30pm. It takes place at The Old Sunday School, Roe Street, Macclesfield, SK11 6UT.
Halloween Craft Club is a bookable session, which costs £6.50 and runs from 10am-noon. It takes place at the Silk Museum, Park Lane, Macclesfield, SK11 6TD.
