Health staff’s office trek across Britain for huge fundraising task
A TEAM of healthcare staff are getting set to travel across Great Britain – all in the relative comfort of their own office.
A dozen HealthCare21 staff members, pictured, will be rowing and cycling on static machines at their workplace at Oakfield House, Springwood Way, Tytherington, over a 24-hour period.
The endurance feat is aiming to raise funds for three charities – East Cheshire Hospice, Diabetes UK and The Christie.
The mammoth travelling task will also be accompanied by a cake sale and silent auction featuring a host of prizes donated by local companies, including England Euro qualifier tickets, a gliding experience, a spa day and a round of golf.
Sam Waite, who is helping organise the event, said: “Here at HealthCare21 we are always keen to raise awareness and donate to a number of charities throughout the year.
Earlier this year we held a very successful raffle and cake sale in which more than £600 raised went to East Cheshire Hospice.
“We are now hoping to raise more than £1,000 for our three chosen charities and fundraising is going well, with more than £500 already donated through our JustGiving page.
“We are aiming to smash this target through a cake sale which will take place during the challenge and the silent auction.
“We will also tweet our progress through the day, so be sure to follow us on twitter @HC21Comms.”
The event starts at 9am on Friday (October 31), with the cake sale at 2pm and the auction at 4pm. If you would like to donate or for further information then go to the firm’s JustGiving page at http://uk. virginmoneygiving.com/ team/HC21challenge.
