Youth project in £1k wind­fall

A YOUTH project has been given a boost with a £1,000 fund­ing in­jec­tion.

Mac­cles­field Lions have do­nated the cash to Cre8, youth and com­mu­nity project on the Moss es­tate.

The vol­un­tary group’s pres­i­dent Ch­es­ney Orme pre­sented the team from Cre8 at its group for pri­mary school aged young peo­ple. There he ex­plained the work of the Lions or­gan­i­sa­tion.

Katy War­dle from Cre8 said: “The do­na­tion is fan­tas­tic and will help fund our many worth­while projects in the com­mu­nity.

Mac­cles­field Lions has been run­ning for the past 40 years and raises £18,000 a year to support groups and ac­tiv­i­ties across the town.

Cre8 is a Mac­cles­field­based char­ity that pro­vides projects and ac­tiv­i­ties for young peo­ple and their fam­i­lies. Its work is aimed to­wards em­pow­er­ing young peo­ple and adults in the area to make change hap­pen for them­selves and also for their neigh­bour­hood.
