Live in harmony with your dog

Macclesfield Express - - BARLOW’S BRIEF -

TODAY my young black Lab Cobra chased after a ball I threw for him. Unfortunately the ball went down the steep bank of a pond and rolled onto the ice.

Cobra charged in after the ball.

Realising the danger I immediately blew my recall whistle and Cobra turned and came straight out of the pond.

Had he not had a reliable recall it could have been another drowning tragedy.

I saw a lady dragged off her feet on a frozen footpath last week by her dog pulling on the lead.

She was very shaken and may have sustained a dislocated shoulder.

Another lady phoned me in distress to tell me her dog had suddenly attacked another in the park ‘without warning.’

These kinds of incidents can happen any time to dog owners so we need to do something about them.

From 9.30am on Sunday, January 11, I will be at Morley Green Club Wilmslow (SK9 5NT) running a Behaviour Clinic where, for a £10 donation to a local animal charity, I will work directly with your dog on any training or behaviour problems he/she may have.

I’ll be doing the same again at Astbury Mere visitor centre Congleton (CW12 4FR) from 10am on Saturday, January 17.

If you want to book an appointment to save waiting, text me on 07590 560012 or just turn up on the day.

I promise you will be amazed.
