Care residents enjoy winter fair and help raise funds for hospice
RESIDENTS at a care home celebrated over the festive period at their very own winter fair.
Barchester’s Prestbury Beaumont care home in the village organised the event for its residents and guests while also raising money for East Cheshire Hospice.
And the Beaumont’s fair was in full swing as 13 local stalls sold an array of different goods and the Prestbury Girls Choir provided attendees with entertainment by performing a range of classic songs.
Staff from the Beaumont, which is off Collar House Drive in Prestbury, were also put in charge of selling raffle tickets and refreshments to raise money for the hospice.
Beverley Davies, the home’s general manager, said: “We are very pleased that we could hold and event like this for the hospice and generate such a good level of attendance.
“With the contribution of all the local suppliers plus the Prestbury Girls Choir we managed to have a great fair and raised money for such a great cause.
“It was clear from the laughter and smiles during the event that everyone really enjoyed the day and contributed as everyone left smiling and full handed. Our residents and their families were a strong support at the event.
“Everyone that came, whether a resident or a guest who just popped by, felt at home and enjoyed the afternoon eating the chef’s shortbreads and drinking a delicious mulled wine while listening to the angelical voices of the local choir.
“We would like to think that Prestbury Beaumont has built up an excellent reputation within its local communities for providing fun events that bring people together.
“The home is constantly holding events and activities for its residents and local visitors and is regularly sponsoring local charities.”
