●● BOLLINGTON Festival Players pantomime Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood starts at Bollington Arts Centre this week. Performances this weekend are on Friday, January at 7.30pm, Saturday, January 10 at 2pm and 7.30pm and Sunday, January 11 at 2pm. They continue from Wednesday, January 14 to Friday, January 16, at 7.30pm and on Saturday, January 17, at 2pm.

The Vale Inn is kicking off this year’s SciBar with a talk by Professor Peter Styles from Keele University who will talk about geothermal energy in the Cheshire Basin.
SciBar meetings are discussions about science that take place while people enjoy a drink.
