Colts shoot down Kendal
MACC COLTS ............... 32 KENDAL COLTS ............. 0
THE eleven Colts that made the trip to Kendal adapted brilliantly to the atrocious conditions.
The Macclesfield youngsters out-tackled their opponents and scored five unanswered tries in their 32-0 win over their Cumbrian opponents.
Despite being outnumbered, the Blues tackled fiercely, competing at the breakdown and around the fringes to ensure that the opposition could not spin the ball wide.
The front row in particular fought hard to regain possession.
Man-of-the-match Elliot Jones (left) scampered around the pitch, wrapping up man and ball in defence and making good yards in attack.
Ollie Aston opened the scoring, slotting a penalty from in front of the posts.
Mike Green then scored the first try, exploiting a gap down the left wing.
Scrum-half Harry Grant scored the next, taking a quick penalty to himself and nipping in underneath the posts.
Callum Wright’s charge down and gather made the next try.
Aston sneaked into the right-hand corner for the fourth after a mazy run from Callum Davies.
Ben Hadfield, Kendal’s choice for the man-ofthe-match, scored the fifth after snatching possession at a lineout, then charging through the 22 to complete the scoring.
