Macclesfield Express - - CHARITY -

TEAMS of swimmers are asked to sign up and make a splash for charity.

Organisers of the 16th Annual Macclesfield Castle Rotary Swimathon are again looking for teams from around the town to take part in the event which takes place in March.

The money raised will go to a variety of charities.

Last year the money raised totalled £10,000 for local and Rotary charities, including East Cheshire Hospice, Age UK, Just Drop In, Scouts and Buxton Mountain Rescue.

Alec Johnston, from Macclesfield Castle Rotary Club who helps organise the swimathon, said: “We’d like to hear from groups who want to enter a team or two and make a splash for charity.

“The money goes to help local people at various charities. Come along and have a whale of a time.”

Teams of four to six swimmers are encouraged to enter and swim for 45 minutes at the event.

Details can be found at Face macclesfieldcastlerotary or by calling 01625 430510.

The event is on Sunday, March 8 at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
