Thirteen not unlucky for tip-top ton-maker

-

THIRTEEN didn’t prove unlucky for clean-sheet specialist Rhys Taylor, who marked his century with another flawless day.

The Macclesfield goalkeeper marked reaching three figures in Silkmen colours with his latest crucial moment.

With his side two goals to the good and with 20 minutes to play Taylor was sharply off his line to thwart Ben Tomlinson and preserve the cushion, which was added to in injury-time by Matthew Barnes- Homer’s late goal.

And manager John Askey was in no doubt that Taylor’s save was vital in the victory.

“It was such an important save from Rhys, that could have changed the game,” said Askey, who was delighted to see his keeper sign a contract to stay at the Moss Rose until the end of the season. “Rhys has shown his worth yet again, I was really pleased that he’s signed this week. But you couldn’t really single anybody out, they were all terrific.”
