Home hosts 30th birth­day bash

A CARE home hosted a spe­cial event to cel­e­brate 30 years of ser­vice.

Park Mount Care Home has been look­ing after peo­ple at its res­i­den­tial premises on Park Mount Drive, Mac­cles­field, since 1984.

On the day of the party, the home – which is owned and run by the Pal­lot­tine Mis­sion­ary Sis­ters – erected a mar­quee in its grounds, in which a Mass was de­liv­ered to its sis­ters, guests, res­i­dents, vol­un­teers, fam­i­lies and staff.

Guests had ar­rived at 10am, when re­fresh­ments were pro­vided be­fore the ser­vice took place.

Sis­ter Mary McNulty wel­comed ev­ery­one, and the hour long Mass was con­ducted by fa­ther John Martin, who was as­sisted by res­i­dent priest, Fa­ther John Woods.

Molly Ri­ley, who works at the home, said: “After Mass, guests were in­vited to en­joy the hos­pi­tal­ity pro­vided by The Pal­lot­tine Sis­ters.

“All the cater­ing for the buf­fet was done in-house by our award win­ning chef and his ded­i­cated team.

“A raf­fle was pro­vided to help raise funds for Park Mount res­i­dents and day­care.

“Prizes in­cluded a ham­per, a bou­quet of flow­ers, wine and cho­co­lates and three mys­tery en­velopes.”

In or­der to cap­ture the last 30 years, a brochure was pub­lished which records the his­tory of the home from its con­cep­tion in 1984 to the present day.

The brochure, which fea­tures photographs and quotes from the pe­riod, was of­fered to all at­ten­dees as a me­mento of the day.
