Well done – another great panto

Macclesfield Express - - BARLOW’S BRIEF -

MY first stage appearance in front of a large audience was as a young girl singing Dimples and Cherry Cheeks.

None of the other boys would do it so I volunteered.

You can imagine the amount of Mickey taking I suffered. That was on my mind when Mrs B and I went to see Sleeping Beauty at MADS theatre last Saturday. Centre stage in a troupe of enchanting young girls was a smiley-faced boy in a sequin top dancing his heart out.

Thankfully times have changed since I wore a dress.

What hasn’t changed is the quality of production in Macclesfield’s best- loved little theatre. It was simply brilliant.

God knows how they managed to pull together all those stunning costumes.

Even my feet were tapping along with the dancers and those little girls just melted my heart.

There were lots of laughs (some at my expense) and a really fun night out.

Well done to everyone involved for another great panto.
