Archie sets his sights on helping others

- STUART GREER

SCHOOLBOY Archie Tomlinson has embarked on an inspirational mission to help people less fortunate than him.

The seven-year-old from Macclesfield, recently organised a raffle in support of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital raising an impressive £94.

No sooner had he handed over the cash Archie was onto his next mission.

Archie, of Brynmore Drive, is an inspiration to his family, including mum Charlotte, 28, dad Adam, 29, and brothers Aiden, five, and Charlie, 18 months.

Mum Charlotte said: “Archie watched a programme about the children with cancer at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. He is a very sensitive boy and immediately wanted to help. I suggested different way he could fundraise and he chose to organise a raffle. We had a lovely hamper and Archie went around his friends and family selling tickets. In just two weeks he raised £94, which doesn’t sound much, but it is a big achievement for him.

“He now wants to do more charity work. We are very proud of him.”

Puss Bank Primary pupil Archie’s next mission is a cake sale to sup- port Water Aid, which improves access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation around the world.
