Cel­e­brated pho­tog­ra­pher to speak at club meet­ing

MACCLESFIELD Cam­era Club is con­tin­u­ing its year of events with a spec­tac­u­lar visit from one of the world’s great­est na­ture pho­tog­ra­phers.

Ben Hall is one of Bri­tain’s fore­most wildlife pho­tog­ra­phers, spe­cial­is­ing in bird and mam­mal photography.

He has won nu­mer­ous in­ter­na­tional awards in­clud­ing wins in the Bri­tish Wildlife Photography Awards and the Wind­land Smith Rice In­ter­na­tional Awards. In 2009 he was also named ‘Ge­o­graph­i­cal’ Pho­tog­ra­pher of the Year.

Stephen Coyne, the club’s vice pres­i­dent, said: “Pro­gramme sec­re­tary Kevin Blake has landed a ma­jor coup by per­suad­ing wildlife pho­tog­ra­pher Ben Hall to come and speak. He is a regular con­trib­u­tor to BBC Wildlife, Pho­toPlus mag­a­zine, Dig­i­tal SLR User, Photography Monthly and many more.

“He has also ap­peared on nu­mer­ous ra­dio and tele­vi­sion pro­grammes in­clud­ing BBC’s Walk on The Wild Side and is a mem­ber of the 2020VISION photo team.”

The Cam­era Club meets at 8pm on Mon­days at Macclesfield Li­brary. Ben’s talk, ‘Mo­ments in Na­ture’, is this Mon­day (Fe­bru­ary 16) and any­one can at­tend by pay­ing a fee but are ad­vised to con­tact the club in ad­vance via its web­site, where the 2014/5 pro­gramme is also listed, at www. mac­cles­field­cam­er­a­club. org.uk.
