Lunchtime drink driver was five times over legal limit

A DRINK driver in­volved in a mid-morn­ing crash was found to be more than FIVE times the legal limit.

Po­lice and am­bu­lance ser­vices were called re­ports of a road traf­fic col­li­sion in­volv­ing a Peu­geot 206 on Princes Way, Macclesfield, on Jan­uary 28.

But when of­fi­cers ar­rived at 11.45am they found Iso­bel Geral­dine Vic­to­ria Riesen be­ing treated by paramedics.

Sus­pect­ing she had been drink­ing the 30-year-old was breathal­ysed and found to have 184 mi­cro­grammes of al­co­hol in 100 millil­itres of breath, more than five times the legal limit of 35mg.

She was ar­rested and re­manded in cus­tody un­til Jan­uary 30 when she ap­peared be­fore mag­is­trates.

Riesen, of Keele Cres­cent, Macclesfield, ad­mit­ted drink driv­ing at South and East Cheshire Mag­is­trates Court. She was given an 18 week pri­son sen­tence, suspended for 12 months and or­dered to carry out 200 hours un­paid work. Riesen, who was not in­jured in the crash, was banned from driv­ing for three years.
