A THIEF has been jailed for stealing a coat just days after being given a suspended prison sentence.
Jonathan Paul Stephenson, 36, of Kendal Road, Macclesfield walked free from court on January 9 after admitting stealing from four town centre shops.
He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison suspended for a year and given an electronic tag banning him from leaving his home at night.
But on January 25 he walked into Millets on Mill Street and stole a Berghaus jacket worth £70.
He admitted the offence at South Cheshire magistrates court on January 26 and was jailed for 10 weeks.
