I-Macc party raises £1,000s
HUNDREDS of people flocked to Macclesfield Youth Club’s annual fundraising extravaganza.
More than 250 people packed out i-Macc Youth Club’s ‘ Made in Macc’ event at Ronnies on Mill Street, Macclesfield.
And after a raffle of star goods and performances by local bands, £2,500 was raised for the club to ensure it survives for another year.
i-Macc chairman and founder Antony Allen said: “We had loads of raffle prizes on the night which were donated by Mawsons Hairdressing, Laser Quest, Pizza Express and rock photographer Anthony Mulryan.
“We also had a signed guitar on offer from local band The Virginmarys, as well as a drum signed by the whole of iconic group New Order.
“Better still Stephen Morris from the band even took the time to bring it around to my house.
“Despite his fame he was such a lovely fella and has never forgotten that he is a Macclesfield lad and that he is proud of this town.
“All in all the last few weeks has been crazy but most importantly, the raffle and ticket sales ensured another £2,500 was raised, keeping i-Macc open for at least another year.”
