Social Singing Group for Over 50s
A SINGING group for the over-50s is appealing for new members.
Singing Together is a social music group that meets at Harry Lawson Court off Hurdsfield Road on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 2-4pm for an afternoon of singing, live music and a chat over a cup of tea.
The group claims as well as offering the chance to meet people and make new friends, members reap the physical and mental health benefits that singing provides.
Each month there are two different types of session and people are welcome to attend either or both.
Musical Moments includes a mixture of singing, live music and gentle exercise, while the other session is a social sing along.
Group organiser Nicky Mills said: “We are not looking for good voices and there are no auditions. Primarily this is a fun singing group, with the focus on meeting people in a relaxed and friendly environment. So we just ask people to turn up and join in as much as they wish.” Call 01260 292850 for information.
