●● MARIE Curie is appealing for people in Poynton to donate their time to collect for the charity’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal this March.
The charity needs volunteers to encourage people in the community to give a donation and wear a daffodil pin.
The money raised from the Great Daffodil Appeal will help Marie Curie Nurses care for people with a terminal illness in their own home, so they can spend more time with the people they love.
In Poynton there are collections at Poynton Morrisons on March 6-8 and Brookside Garden Centre on March 13-15.
Jessica Herrington, community fundraiser for Marie Curie in Poynton, said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal makes it possible for Marie Curie Nurses to provide free hands-on care for people with a terminal illness. Every March, millions of people across the UK show their support for our work.
“We need as many people as possible to donate their time, so we can continue providing this vital care for local people.
“On average a collector can collect £80 every two hours, which pays for four nursing hours, so any time you can give really does matter.”
