●● OAKDALE, the day activity provision for disabled adults run by the Rossendale Trust, unveiled its new purpose-built ‘Arts and Media centre’ in January – but sadly celebrations had to be called off because of snow.

The centre offers a variety of sessions including courses in photography, computer skills, horticulture and woodwork.

Staff have expressed thanks to everyone who helped the two-year campaign to build the centre and promises that another ‘grand opening’ will be scheduled for around March. ●● SUTTON St James’ Church bell-ringing team is asking for people to come and get involved.

The team has stressed that everyone is welcome – prospective bell-ringers do not even have to be regular church-goers.

Anyone who is interested in doing some ringing, or even just finding out how it is done, should ring tower captain Sarah Jacot on 01260 253773 or just call in on a session at 8.15pm on a Wednesday night.
