Hol­ly­wood hero gives his rock-solid sup­port to Silk­men’s pro­mo­tion push

A HOL­LY­WOOD su­per­star has thrown his sup­port be­hind Macclesfield Town FC ahead of their last two games of the sea­son.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ John­son has been fol­low­ing the Silk­men since ap­pear­ing on long-run­ning foot­ball show Soc­cer AM in 2008.

The Sky Sports pro­gramme as­signed the man-moun­tain a team to fol­low which he vowed to do. He was even sent a triple XL shirt by the club in thanks for his sup­port.

Seven years on the mus­cle-bound wrestling star-turned-film hero has again pledged his al­le­giance to the club.

Speak­ing to a jour­nal­ist while pro­mot­ing his lat­est movie Fu­ri­ous 7 the 42-year-old star con­firmed his favourite English foot­ball team were “the Pride of Cheshire”. His back­ing comes at a cru­cial time in the sea­son. Macclesfield Town need to win both of the last two games to se­cure their place in the play-offs.This Satur­day, the club’s last re­main­ing home game, the Moss Rose sta­dium hosts third-from-bot­tom Dart­ford.
