Par­ents urged to get smart

PAR­ENTS of kids strug­gling to study for their GCSE maths are be­ing en­cour­aged to take part in a new train­ing ven­ture.

The iS­mart Skills Train­ing for GCSE Maths Pro­gramme has been set up to help par­ents en­sure their chil­dren have the sup­port be­fore go­ing into their all im­por­tant maths exam.

The Macclesfield Academy, on Park Lane, is host­ing a par­ent/tu­tor event to­mor­row, Thurs­day, April 23, to show par­ents how the on­line tool can help them help their kids when it comes to study­ing.

It’s been de­vel­oped by Macclesfield com­pany iSmark Skills Train­ing Ltd, based at Silk House on Park Green,

It in­cor­po­rates an on­line in­ter­ac­tive work­book and lessons, plus a progress chart which is com­pat­i­ble with com­put­ers, tablets and mo­bile phones.

The free event runs from 7pm un­til 8.30pm fol­lowed by in­di­vid­ual par­ent/stu­dent con­sul­ta­tions un­til 9.30pm.

iS­mart is of­fer­ing all schools and col­leges in Cheshire 12 months free ac­cess to the pro­gramme for stu­dents at risk of un­der-per­form­ing.
