Macclesfield Express - - SCHOOLS NEWS -

A PUPIL from Macclesfield has bagged a big prize in an art competition organised by the town’s Tesco store.

Ash Grove Academy Primary’s Lydia Dean-Lee won £300 after crafting a drawing to help promote the store’s Click + Collect online groceries shopping service.

Schoolchildren had been asked by the team to design an eye-catching picture to go alongside the Click + Collect design to promote the new service.

It allows shoppers to order groceries online and arrange to pick them up at a collection point in the car park.

And as well as seeing her great artwork printed on 250 re-usable jute shopping bags which were distributed free to parents and children at the school, six-year-old Lydia also snapped up a £25 Tesco gift card for her family.

The schoolgirl was accompanied by some of her classmates and her sister Lotty while visiting the Click + Collect unit at Tesco, on Hibel Road, to pick up her prize.

Sheena King, the store’s community champion, said: “Lydia’s entry was selected by judges for its colour, impact, sense of fun and style.”
