Karen’s marathon effort for kids charity
A FITNESS coach is running the London Marathon in aid of charity.
Karen Wellington, who is from Macclesfield and spends her working time running slimming clubs, has taken on the challenge to raise money for the Together Trust.
The charity supports children with autism and a range of other behavioural and learning difficulties and disabilities.
She also hosted a charity sale in Poynton to add to her fundraising pot. Karen said: “Although I feel excited at the challenge ahead, I must say that I was totally unprepared for the amount of time and effort that has gone into the training.
“There have been times when my legs are barely able to go any further but I have forced myself to follow the training plan, whatever the weather.
“I have missed out on some of my favourite social events, as the training has taken priority, and need to go to work and keep smiling when all I feel like doing is sleeping.
“Please help me reach my target of £1,500 for The together Trust by donating a few pounds.
“Each pound will spur me on to the end, help me fight my way through the pain, the brick walls, and the exhaustion to do my best for the charity.”
