A POYNTON charity shop has shut its doors for the last time.

Stockport CP Society, which supports adults and children with physical and or learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions, was forced to close its branch in Poynton.

It says the shops have struggled as a result of a decline in donations, the fluctuating rag market and an increase in high street companies that pay customers for unwanted items.

Chief executive Sarah Thomas, said: “We would like to thank the dedicated team of staff and volunteers for all their hard work and commitment over the years and we would also like to thank all the customers who have donated and purchased goods from the shops during this time.

“The funds raised through the shops have supported many of our services over the years.”
