Nursery kids head into ‘wacky’ woods for special activity day

Macclesfield Express - - MOTORING -

YOUNGSTERS from a nursery spent an activity day learning all about nature in the woods.

Children from Prestbury Church of England Primary School enjoyed a range of activities including a nature walk, playing hide and seek, and building dens and fairy houses during their trip to Wacky Woods in Adlington, as well as creating their own art work.

Having read the The Gruffalo story at school, the children were hopeful that they might spot the Gruffalo in the woods and were not disappointed. He appeared behind the trees and tried to hide as the children excitedly chased him.

Headteacher, Mr Capener, who joined the children on the visit to Wacky Woods, said: “It is great to have a maintained nursery, led by a qualified teacher and experienced teaching assistant at the school. The highlight of the day was toasting and eating marshmallows around the camp fire.”
