Torquay v Macclesfield (Saturday, 5.15pm)

Macclesfield Express - - SEARCH -

MACCLESFIELD need to defeat Torquay if they are to have any chance of finishing in the play-offs.

IF Forest Green fail to win at home to Dover, victory for Macc would see them leapfrog Rovers in the table.

FOURTH-PLACED Eastleigh only need a point though against Kiddersminster to ensure that they finish above Macclesfield in the table.

THE Silkmen were victorious when they went up against Torquay in the reverse fixture earlier this season, winning 1-0 in November.

DANNY Whitaker’s second half strike was enough to give John Askey’s side the victory.

THE Gulls currently sit 12th in the Conference table and could climb one place with a win on Saturday.

THEY head into the match in good form, after winning their last three league matches in a row, keeping three successive clean sheets in that time.

RYAN Bowman is their leading scorer so far this season, having netted 13 times in the league.

TORQUAY won when they last hosted Macc at Plainmoor back in 2011, cruising to a 3-0 victory.
