AfuRIouS mum has said a community sentence is no justice for her daughter after the man who ‘groomed’ her escaped a jail term.

Christopher Chu sexually assaulted the girl – who was under 13 – five times, having a ‘devastating effect on the victim and her family’.

But Chu, of Westmorland Close, upton Priory, was handed a threeyear community order at Chester Crown Court after admitting the five sexual assault charges.

The court heard Chu, 43, who ran a fish and chip shop in upton Priory, needed help rather than prison to prevent him being a danger to the public in future.

But the victim’s mum said: “This makes a mockery out of our family’s trauma.

“We feel let down.” ●●
