WHAT’S ON Get revved up this Bank Holiday Monday
RACING returns to the Derbyshire Hills on Bank Holiday Monday, starting at 1.00pm. The Spectator Gates will
Car Boot Sales open at 10am with the chance to come along and watch the cars practice or walk around the Pit area, meet the drivers and take a closer look at the cars.
Banger Racing will be brought to you by way of the two Litre Bangers Mr Bump Memorial (Non Mondeo, Cougar or Vectra). Craig Philips sadly passed away last year and the drivers - some
Antique Fairs of who raced with him for many years - have requested this excellent race meeting in his memory.
The Super Bangers will be out in force competing for the Country Stores Cup. This as kindly been sponsored by Country Store, Froghall Rd Stokeon-Trent ST10 2NA. These cars are Steel bodied with mainly V6 or V8 engines and are awesome to watch around Buxton.
These formulas will be supported by the Junior Bangers - children aged 10 to 16 - racing purposebuilt Bangers with a maximum engine size of 1300cc. These are nippy little cars with even nippier racer drivers at the helm for some crashing action.
The 1600 Open Rods will also be out in force for their Peaks Championship. These cars are limited to 1600cc and are strictly non contact, so expect fast, exciting racing as the drivers from the back of the grid try to take the chequered flag.
To top the day off, organisers have secured a couple of monster trucks to come along and perform some car crushing fun. So get ready for some action including a tug of war and car crushing carnage. Prices for adults are £15 including full raceday programme, OAP tickets £10 and children aged 9 to 15, £5. Children up to and including eight year olds go free. Trackside parking £6.
