FOUR Macclesfield busi­nesses have made a new list­ing of the UK’s most ex­cit­ing com­pa­nies.

The firms were among 14 in Cheshire East to make it into ‘1,000 Com­pa­nies to In­spire Bri­tain’, a spe­cial re­port pub­lished by the Lon­don Stock Ex­change.

MPM Prod­ucts has seen its sales in­crease from £2m to more than £27m since 2008 thanks to de­mand for its Ap­plaws and En­core dog and cat food brands.

Quin­tes­sen­tial Fi­nance Group has grown 400 per cent in the past four years. The com­pany’s Pingtree tech­nol­ogy, which plugs fi­nan­cial busi­nesses and web­sites into lenders and in­sur­ance providers, is a huge suc­cess in the US loans mar­ket.

Mer­cian Ltd was founded in 2005 and within six years had be­come the largest sin­gle sup­plier of pota­toes to the UK’s ma­jor crisp man­u­fac­tur­ers.

Pulse Um­brella Group of­fers ac­count­ing ser­vices to con­trac­tors and free­lance pro­fes­sion­als.

Among wider Cheshire East firms on the list is County Milk Prod­ucts, founded in 1994 and based in Wilm­slow.

It sup­plies liq­uid and pow­dered dairy prod­ucts, but­ter fats, cheese and an­i­mal feeds.

Leap29 is a global re­cruit­ment firm also in Wilm­slow which serves the oil and gas, min­ing, en­gi­neer­ing and pro­fes­sional ser­vices sec­tors.

Mo­bica Limited, a soft­ware com­pany in Wilm­slow, pro­vides the au­to­mo­tive, mo­bile, semi­con­duc­tor, fi­nance, TV and broad­cast­ing, marine and avi­a­tion in­dus­tries with so­lu­tions used in smartphones, TVs, cars and in­tel­li­gent build­ings.

Coun­cil­lor Michael Jones, Cheshire East Coun­cil leader, said: “This shows we have many fast-grow­ing com­pa­nies which will cre­ate more jobs and growth in the years to come.”
