Eurovision party gets top marks
A CATERING company raised hundreds of pounds for sick children with a Eurovision themed charity bbq.
The HR team from Elior UK, based on Catherine Street, Macclesfield, organised the event in aid of the Starlight Children’s Foundation which helps make wishes come true for terminally and seriously ill children around the UK.
The company has a special connection with the contest after this year’s UK entrant, Bianca Nicholas, from Electro Velvet, performed at Elior’s excellence awards.
Bianca, who suffers from cycstic fibrosis, is a former ‘Starlight wish child’ after the charity granted her wish to become a singer and record a covers CD.
The event took place at the home of Andy Grant, HR manager at Elior UK.
Staff celebrated by donning fancy dress outfits in the style of competing countries, raising £425 on the night and exceeding their target.
Andy said: “Everyone got into the spirit of Eurovision with some terrific outfits - outfits were particularly imaginative.
“We have now raised more than £80,000 for the charity which is something everyone should be proud of.”
