Police appeal following photographic discovery
POLICE have launched an appeal after finding photographic equipment which they suspect has been stolen.
Officers found the two camera lenses and a tripod during a search of a house in the town.
They became suspicious after the Kenlock and Chinon lenses and a Velbon tripod were found hidden in the property on Windmill Street, Macclesfield.
The officers from Macclesfield Neighbourhood Policing Unit think the items have been stolen.
But they do not have any reports that the items have gone missing.
The officers have launched an appeal for people to come forward if they want to claim the equipment or have any information to help the enquiries.
PC Ellie Weir said: “We have recovered two lenses and a tripod and think they are stolen because they were hidden at the house.
“The items look like they are a mid-range brand and the equipment could be worth around £100.
“We urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
Police would not give their reasons for attending the property but said they found the items during a ‘routine search’.
Call police on 101 with information.
