Macclesfield Express - - CHARITY NEWS -

A KIND-HEARTED teaching assistant is embarking on a journey of a lifetime to help her school.

Suzy McNulty, 39, is aiming to fulfil her dream and climb Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.

By taking on the challenge, which she is funding herself, she hopes to raise money for Park Lane School.

Suzy, a mum of two, who has worked at the school for three years, said: “She cannot think of a more worthy cause to support. It has always been an ambition of mine to trek Kilimanjaro and now the time is right in my life to go for it. Failure is not an option. “

Suzy’s adventure starts on August 6 when she flies out. The trek starts on the 8th. She said: “It will take seven days to complete, reaching an altitude of 5,895m through forest, moorland and to alpine desert. As we get higher that challenge becomes harder as the oxygen gets thinner and temperatures plummet to minus 10.

“I would ask readers to help me help my school.”

Sponsorship forms can be found in the school’s reception. You can also donate online at http:// uk.virginmoneygiving. com/SuziMac-Kilimanjaro
