●● RES­I­DENTS and Parish Coun­cil­lors met in Prest­bury Vil­lage Hall for their An­nual Parish Meet­ing. At­ten­dees ac­knowl­edged the con­tin­u­ing pres­sure on Cheshire East coun­cil to im­prove street and drain clean­ing and hedge cut­ting and on Net­work Rail and North­ern Rail to im­prove Prest­bury sta­tion and its car park.

They also heard about pro­pos­als to in­tro­duce sta­tion car park charges and progress with steps to re­duce ex­ces­sive driv­ing speeds through the vil­lage us­ing their speed in­di­ca­tor de­vice, SID.

The re-open­ing of the chil­dren’s play­ground, the fu­ture of the vil­lage public toi­lets, plans for a new youth club and us­ing Par­rot’s Field as a vil­lage green were also dis­cussed, as was fill­ing empty shops.
