Call to join health group’s patient voice
RESIDENTS are being encouraged to join a patient forum which gives them a chance to speak about health issues and services in the town.
HealthVoice was set up by the NHS Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and represents the interests of, patients, carers and the public in Macclesfield.
Trevor Lerman, chairman of HealthVoice, said: “We are an independent advisory committee to the CCG and are involved in all aspects of decision making regarding planning, prioritising and implementing health services.”
Dr Paul Bowen, CCG chairman and a Poynton GP, said: “HealthVoice is a proactive group which plays a vital role in enabling us as a CCG to hear and respond to the voice of our patients and public.
“Its contribution informs our decision making and ensures that the patient voice is taken into account in all aspects of our planning and implementation.”
Meetings take place every eight weeks and are open to everyone.
The next is on Thursday, June 18, at Macclesfield Town Hall, from 6.15pm to 8.15pm.
