Call to join health group’s pa­tient voice

RES­I­DENTS are be­ing en­cour­aged to join a pa­tient fo­rum which gives them a chance to speak about health is­sues and ser­vices in the town.

HealthVoice was set up by the NHS Eastern Cheshire Clin­i­cal Com­mis­sion­ing Group (CCG) and rep­re­sents the in­ter­ests of, pa­tients, car­ers and the public in Macclesfield.

Trevor Ler­man, chair­man of HealthVoice, said: “We are an in­de­pen­dent ad­vi­sory com­mit­tee to the CCG and are in­volved in all as­pects of de­ci­sion mak­ing re­gard­ing plan­ning, pri­ori­tis­ing and im­ple­ment­ing health ser­vices.”

Dr Paul Bowen, CCG chair­man and a Poyn­ton GP, said: “HealthVoice is a proac­tive group which plays a vi­tal role in en­abling us as a CCG to hear and re­spond to the voice of our pa­tients and public.

“Its con­tri­bu­tion in­forms our de­ci­sion mak­ing and en­sures that the pa­tient voice is taken into ac­count in all as­pects of our plan­ning and im­ple­men­ta­tion.”

Meet­ings take place ev­ery eight weeks and are open to ev­ery­one.

The next is on Thurs­day, June 18, at Macclesfield Town Hall, from 6.15pm to 8.15pm.
