Chessie’s in fashion for trip to London
A FASHION graduate with designs on catwalk success has been selected to display her designs at London’s Graduate Fashion Week.
Chessie Brook, 22, from Lower Withington, was chosen as one of 34 students out of 80 at Manchester Metropolitan University’s graduate show which took place at Hallé St Peters in Ancoats, Manchester, the rehearsal space for the renowned Hallé Orchestra.
As part of her BA Honours degree in Fashion Design and Technology, she spent a year in Amsterdam working for international fashion company Mexx, where she gained experience in garment measuring, men’s clothes design and graphics and artwork. The former Terra Nova School pupil said: “I am absolutely delighted to be included in Graduate Fashion Week.
“I have grown 100 per cent in confidence this year.”
“The fashion industry can be disheartening as not everyone will like your work but I am incredibly motivated and determined.”
