Chessie’s in fash­ion for trip to Lon­don

A FASH­ION grad­u­ate with de­signs on cat­walk suc­cess has been se­lected to dis­play her de­signs at Lon­don’s Grad­u­ate Fash­ion Week.

Chessie Brook, 22, from Lower Withing­ton, was cho­sen as one of 34 stu­dents out of 80 at Manch­ester Metropoli­tan Uni­ver­sity’s grad­u­ate show which took place at Hallé St Peters in An­coats, Manch­ester, the re­hearsal space for the renowned Hallé Orches­tra.

As part of her BA Honours de­gree in Fash­ion De­sign and Tech­nol­ogy, she spent a year in Am­s­ter­dam work­ing for in­ter­na­tional fash­ion com­pany Mexx, where she gained ex­pe­ri­ence in gar­ment mea­sur­ing, men’s clothes de­sign and graph­ics and art­work. The for­mer Terra Nova School pupil said: “I am ab­so­lutely de­lighted to be in­cluded in Grad­u­ate Fash­ion Week.

“I have grown 100 per cent in con­fi­dence this year.”

“The fash­ion in­dus­try can be dis­heart­en­ing as not ev­ery­one will like your work but I am in­cred­i­bly mo­ti­vated and determined.”
