Claim a free hospice guide
A UNIQUE booklet, designed to help people get their “Ducks in a Row”, has been launched by the East Cheshire Hospice.
The free guide, aptly named ‘‘Ducks in a Row”, is the brain-child of East Cheshire Hospice nurse Helen Henshaw, who witnesses the distress of patients and their carers every week in the Sunflower Centre when important information goes astray.
Helen and her colleagues designed the guide to help keep life details – phone numbers, passwords, location of documents etc – all noted down in one place.
“In today’s world of online passwords, a multitude of documents and friends and family living further apart, a single point of reference has never been more important,” says Helen.
“It’s so simple to jot everything down in this booklet and then you can get on with living, knowing that if the worst happens you won’t be landing your loved ones in a pickle trying to fathom out where all your documents are kept, what medicines you are taking and where your address book is kept.
“Everyone should complete a Ducks in a Row guide because no-one knows when an accident or illness is going to render them incapable of looking after themselves.”
The free guide is available to anyone who wants one online at eastcheshirehospice. org.uk/ducksinarow or by calling the hospice on 01625 610364.
